According to Articles 39 and 40 of the “Patent Law of the People’s Republic of China,” the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) has decided to revise the patent certificate. The following announcements are made:
For patents with an authorization announcement date on or after June 1, 2024, the CNIPA will issue a new version of the patent certificate. The new patent certificate continues to use the A4 size vertical layout and optimizes the arrangement of bibliographic details.
The old and new patent certificates have the same legal effect. The CNIPA does not provide a service to replace the old version with the new patent certificate for already issued certificates. For requests to replace or correct patent certificates based on Section 1.2 of Chapter 9 of Part V of the “Patent Examination Guidelines,” the CNIPA will issue the new patent certificate from June 1, 2024.
The Chinese patent certificate is a single A4 paper without any certificate cover.
